Ingredients

  • 500 gms Chicken
  • 2 tbsp Oil
  • ¼ cup Curd thick
  • 2 tsp Ginger-garlic paste
  • ½ tsp Coriander powder
  • ½ tsp Cumin powder
  • Red chilly powder as per requirement
  • 1 tsp Vinegar
  • 1 no Lemon
  • 1 pinch Chat masala a little

Instructions

  • Clean the chicken and set it aside.
  • In a bowl, combine the homemade chicken kebab marinade by mixing together oil, thick curd, ginger-garlic paste, coriander powder, cumin powder, red chilli powder, vinegar, and a pinch of chat masala.
  • Add the chicken to the marinade and ensure it is well coated. Let it marinate for 5 to 6 hours, or for best results, marinate it overnight in the refrigerator.
  • Heat a tawa or skillet and add oil to it. Once the oil is hot, place the marinated chicken pieces on the tawa and cover. Cook them on medium flame for 10 minutes.
  • Remove the lid, flip the chicken pieces, and continue cooking on low flame until the chicken is cooked through and the excess moisture evaporates, resulting in delicious chicken kebabs.
  • Serve the homemade chicken kebabs hot, garnished with lemon wedges. Pair them with your favorite salads for a delightful and satisfying meal.

Notes

  • Marination Time: Marinating the chicken for at least 5 to 6 hours, or overnight in the refrigerator, allows the flavors to penetrate the meat, resulting in more delicious and tender chicken kebabs.
  • Cooking Technique: Cooking the chicken kebabs on a tawa or skillet helps to retain the moisture and flavors of the marinated chicken. Make sure to cook them on medium heat initially and then lower the heat to ensure even cooking and to prevent them from drying out.
  • Adjusting Spice Level: You can adjust the amount of red chilli powder according to your preferred spice level. Add more or less depending on your taste preferences.
  • Serving Suggestions: Serve the homemade chicken kebabs hot as an appetizer or as a main course. They pair well with mint chutney, yogurt dip, or a squeeze of fresh lemon juice. Accompany them with naan bread, rice, or a side salad for a complete and satisfying meal.
