Ingredients
- 1 bowl Prawns / Pomfret shelled
- 2 nos Onions small, sliced
- ½ tsp Turmeric (Haldi)
- 1 nos Raw Mango cut into pieces
- 4 nos Green chillies slit into half
- 1 small pc Tamarind soaked in water. (Juice Extracted)
- Salt as per taste
- 2 nos Ladys finger cut into 1″ inch (Optional)
Grind to a smooth paste:
- 1 cup Coconut grated
- 6 nos Kashmiri Chillies
- 4 nos Long Red Chillies
- ½ tsp Cumin seeds (Jeera)
- 4-6 flakes Garlic
- ½ inch Ginger
Instructions
- Clean the Prawns / Pomfret well and cut them into desired pieces. Apply salt and marinate for an hour.
- In a cooking dish, add the onions, green chillies, and mash well with the tamarind juice. Add mango and salt.
- Put the ground masala paste, turmeric, and salt into the dish along with sufficient water. Allow it to cook on a slow flame until the curry begins to boil. Simmer slowly for about 10 to 15 minutes.
- Add the Prawns / Pomfret to the curry and cook for 10 minutes.
- Do not cover the pot at any stage while the curry is being cooked.
- Serve the delicious Prawns Curry with hot rice.
Notes
- You can use either Prawns or Pomfret for this curry, depending on your preference and availability.
- Make sure to clean the Prawns or Pomfret thoroughly before marinating to remove any impurities.
- Marinating the seafood with salt helps to enhance the flavor and tenderize the meat.
- Adjust the spiciness of the curry by adding or reducing the number of green chillies according to your taste.
